life is like a plane in the sky.
Every time I travel on a plane, I try my best to make sure I get the window seat. Sitting by the window gives me an opportunity to look out, 30 thousand feet in the air and marvel at the sights. Being that high up in the air should not be possible but somehow, it is. It should not make sense — but somehow it does.
Such a heavy vessel should not be capable of moving across continents but when you strip it all down to its components — then it starts to make sense a little bit. There’s the wings, the engine, the pilot, the wheels. All these things come together to make a rather grandeur and jaw dropping feat quite possible.
Life is like a plane. It doesn’t make sense until you strip it down to its basics and take it component by component. Everything can seem daunting and overwhelming until you identify the components that make you takeoff on the runway of existence.
For some, being around friends and family helps them make sense of things. To others, cooking a nice meal and unwinding with a good book is their go to. Others are travel junkies and experiencing new cultures is just what they need. Some like to go party every weekend and make new connections. I have met so many people with different hobbies from mine. Some of them I thought were initially weird till I sat back and realized it’s all part of self discovery.
At the root of it all, whatever your components are, indulge in them and like a plane, you will start to soar and life shall start to make a bit more sense. However, it is important to identify what your intrinsic components are. Too many people get clouded by components that are not innate to their true self and engage in them until they realize it later down the line.
One thing that really helped me discover my core components was detaching myself from all the noise social media can bring. It helped me unearth what I like and don’t like without the pressure that came from images, texts and sounds from online herds. I could go on and on about social media but that is an article for another day.
Like the plane in the sky, life comes with various forms of turbulence but like a pilot, once you are in control, you should be able to navigate through any obstacle. Just like how components can help make sense of life, they can also help you overcome the clouds in your life. When faced with a challenge, I like to break it down into tiny pieces and tackle each piece bit by bit.
Life is just like like a plane, once you figure out the components needed to take flight, you will find yourself cruising at your own altitude. I am sure when you get there, you will look out of your window in awe.
